18 September 08 - 08:15somewhere waitin'...
hand an’ glove—we fit
long -a-
vowel sounds and word play
wrong time
right place
a ribbon beneath the sun
before the Spring season of love begun
there was We
there was she
there was peace
unity—
a love, somewhere lost
yet destined to be

05 April 08 - 06:19A Day Like Today
wishing for sunshine
in a time
when the future looks grim
skies are gritty and gray
young folks die, day after day
mothers bury their young
become an expected occasion
cancer spreads like wildfire
in a forest
on a hot summer's day
~
in a time
where people no longer smile
each man for himself
fighting for wealth
stepping on the hand of
the next man
on his way...
~
in a time
where equality only exists
in the mind
content since, niggers no longer hang from tall trees
racism now worn
beneath a long pressed sleeve and
a crooked smile
while folks walking around
deep in denial, I
continue to pray
’cause rest cometh
in the final day.
05 April 08 - 05:57Ceremony for the Dreamer
deep-seated dreams float
through the breeze with the dust
and leaves of the trees
Waiting for an old wise man to have and grab hold
from this day forward
till death do them
part
05 April 08 - 05:37Some Time Ago
Where has my inspiration gone?
Drifted away with the wind
without a return to sender
Some time ago, but not so long ago
I had a name
I was somebody
Life was good, life was fine
Some time ago, but not so long ago
I had a dream
To become great
Inspiring souls of the world
to be all they could be
Until that world
up and turned on me.
Where has my spirit gone?
Lost in the melody of a song
Hidden in the mural painted in the air
And I don’t know where
to find it.
~
And folks say
life is fine
15 March 08 - 14:12I Dream My Dreams
I dream my dreams upon the seasons of the earth
that they will bring shocking beauty and admiration to souls far and near
I dream my dreams upon the self-seekers of the world today
that they will bear the duties that are bestowed upon him by his Father
I dream my dreams upon green pastures
where the calf comes home to graze beneath the baby blue sky
I dream my dreams upon the heaven’s from which the rain shall pour beyond measure
to wash the tear from every eye
